I love using the freshest produce available- and this time of year it is so easy to just pull up to a produce stand and pick the BEST! This living foods cracker recipe is a variation of one I found on-line. Credit goes to Matt Amsden and the book is Rawvolution.
You will need a food dehydrator and 2-3 shelf sections depending on how thick you make the crackers.
Ingredients:
2 large onions – (depending on flavor – you may only need 1) 3 corn on cob-cut corn from husk
3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
3/4 cup ground flax seed
1/2 cup soy sauce or Brigg’s amino acids
1/3 cup cold,-pressed olive oil or grapeseed oil
Preparation:
Slice onions fine. Place sunflower seeds in bottom of food processor and pulse several times. Place all other ingredients in processor and pulse until you have desired mix and texture. Spread batter onto dehydrator trays to approx. 1/4 inch thickness. This is important as thinner crackers will break easier when dipping or eating with hummus.
Set hydrator at 115 degrees
After 24 hours, check bread and flip over to bake additional 5-10 hours at 100 degrees.
Cut into squares and enjoy!!
