If you decide to use tofu-buy EXTRA FIRM. Remove from container, slice into thirds and place on a plate with paper towels on the bottom and top of tofu. Put into the fridge with an additional plate on top so the excess water will be squeezed out of the tofu.
Mix Together in a Zip Lock Bag:
3/4 cup Tamari (gluten free soy sauce)
3 T sesame oil
1 1/2 t fresh pressed ginger, chopped
1/2 cup honey
3 chopped green onions
1/4 t black pepper or cayenne
pinch of red pepper flakes
Seal bag and work the ingredients together.
SAUCE IDEA; If you would like to have a little sauce to pour over the meat sitting on top a bed of rice then double the above recipe and place half in a small pan. Heat on medium heat over the stove and whisk in a thickener like cornstarch or guar gum. Whisk until you get a thick sauce and then remove and serve with meal.
Choose either chicken, turkey or beef and cut into 4-6 ounce pieces. Place in the bag, put in the fridge and marinate for at least 3 hours.
TIP: You could make this in the morning so the meat will be ready to go when you get home from work.
TOFU: Place your 3 pieces in the zip lock bag gently- you don’t want them to fall apart. Put in fridge where it will not be disturbed.
Grill option – this is my favorite way to cook this – you will need to watch carefully as they do not take long and you don’t want them to be dried out and tough.
The concept here is to make enough to enjoy for your meal today and several protein servings to get you through the next 3 days.
Meal preparation:
Option One:
Rice
Sauteed Veggies or lightly steamed and then tossed with a little olive oil
Sauce for pouring over the meat and rice
Option Two:
Salad – romaine lettuce, red lettuce, mandarin oranges, almond slices, chopped green onions. Oriental dressing(sparingly)
Slice the meat up into bite size pieces and place on top of salad.

All so far have too much Sodium to be considered healthy for most over 40 years old.
Thank you Dr. Taylor for your comment. This is one of my very first recipes – and I’m glad you brought it to my attention to revisit. I would no longer recommend Braggs Amino Acids nor would I recommend regular soy sauce. The sauce with the least amount of salt and the healthiest form is Tamari. Tamari is a form on soy sauce but does not contain gluten. There is no added salt to this recipe. When people choose to make their food from scratch, choosing their own fresh ingredients, they are setting themselves up for great health. It’s the over processed foods that people rely on to satisfy their hunger that can change a vibrant healthy person into a person with dis-ease.
