So, yesterday I did a workshop at the Pleasant Valley county Library and made a food friendly blueberry pudding which called for Chia seeds. I went to Whole Foods and discovered they were out of Chia but had this interesting other product called Salba. I bought it because I needed Chia seeds desperately and was willing to take the chance they were similar.
Happily, I discovered Salba seeds are indeed Chia seeds. Salba is the name of the plant. While investigating I also found out this awesome information: Chia seeds are an amazing super grain, they have:
6X the calcium of milk
3X the antioxidant strength of blueberries
2 X the potassium of bananas
3X more iron then spinach
8X the omega 3 fatty acids of salmon

LOVE THIS!!! So good to know:)
This is great for people who don’t eat dairy.
